Visual indigestion? Try a cup of tea

OCA photography student Simon Taylor has an exhibition of his work at the Bath cafe Boston Tea Party starting this Saturday 9 July. Simon says ‘New York can give you visual indigestion, there is the conveyor belt of people passing you by, the flickering hypnotic advertisements and the huge buildings searching like trees in the rain forest for daylight. This series highlights some of the subtleties that can be missed when walking around cities glancing from famous landmark to famous landmarks. The photographic style has been influenced by classic movies and American comic books which have so many times used New York as a backdrop to there story lines.’ Well worth a visit.

I’ve looked at your website Simon and like the layout. I like the way you’ve used colour in all its forms in your portfolio. the black/white and muted duo-tones etc really bring out the grittiness of the streets for me.

    Hi Simon,

I live just a few miles south of Bath and will certainly try to drop into the exhibition. Is it a dedicated space in the BTP building or around the cafe walls & when does it end?

Cheers & good luck with it, Dave B.

      Hi Dave

The photographs are going to be on show in the main room of the cafe. My work will be up for two weeks with a chance of being extended to four weeks.

      Thanks, Simon
