PLEASE, PLEASE consider the Monet, Turner, Twombly exhibition at the Tate Liverpool.
It was an excellent piece of intelligent and sublime curating. The works are beautiful and, at times, contentious. This would appeal to artists, musicians and writers all!!!

“Art and Photography” has been on at the Manchester Art Gallery since May and will continue to June of next year. I think such exhibitions stimulate debate as to what photography is which is quite helpful for the theoretical side yet the works here are obviously of interest visually …

Any chance of some more Saturday workshops, I live in the North East and teach full-time, which means I have to plan in advance as most workshops are a good distance and can only make weekdays during school holidays?

      Hi Sarah

We certainly aim to get as many events at the weekend as possible. Sometimes it isn’t possible – galleries tend to be at their busiest at weekends and this can impact both the availability of gallery staff to support study visits and the ability of students to discuss work in groups. But we realise very many students work during the week, so will keep it under review.

    Hi,
I thank the OCA for the recent list of places that the textile students could travel to independently. I do intend to follow these up however please please could there be MORE OCA textile study visits as the Whitworth was such a fantastic success. The V and A missed me as I was unaware of it; how are study visits publicised as I always check when the weekly bulletin arrives.

Try the Textile Society website they list exhibitions but not the permanent collections. I am going to approach the OCA for a textile study day at the Stroud Textile Festival in the spring. Which area of the country do you live?

Hi Sarah, I’m trying to get a curator led talk so this would have to be during the week, but I think it might justify a 2nd, weekend-based visit since it will be so good and valuable across most subjects.

    Jane/Gareth,

I would really like to go to the Kaffe Fassett study visit. It doesn’t say spaces available, so guessing it’s full. If so is there a waiting list?
    Ally.

Sorry Ally the Kaffe Fassett is full, but you can put your name on the reserve list by emailing enquiries@oca-uk.com

We will update the list above early next week
